In Current Policies (baseline), all coal plants run until the end of their assumed economic life. In Early Coal Retirement Indonesia’s $20 billion JETP buys out 21.7 GW of coal PPAs up to 10 years early. TransitionZero’s Future Energy Outlook model shows that this fund would be exhausted in 2028, and coal capacity expansion thereafter would eliminate the JETP’s early emissions savings.
